El Arish International Airport lies just south of El Arish, the capital of North Sinai Governorate on the Mediterranean coast. It is a small airport with a single 3,019-metre runway and a terminal built for around 200 passengers an hour. For most of its history it has handled modest domestic traffic, occasional charters and pilgrimage flights.
Airlines and routes
EgyptAir is listed as the main passenger carrier, with flights to Cairo, but schedules are irregular and you should check directly with the airline before planning around them. Palestinian Airlines once used El Arish as its base for flights to Amman and the Gulf, but the airline stopped operating in December 2020. Since October 2023 the airport has mainly served as the hub for international humanitarian aid bound for Gaza: by May 2026 it had received more than 1,000 aid aircraft from dozens of countries.
Getting to town
The airport is close to the city, and transfers are by taxi or pre-arranged car. There is no airport rail link. For leisure travel in Sinai, most visitors use Sharm El Sheikh or Taba airports instead.
