15th Sharm El Sheikh Half Marathon

The Sharm El Sheikh Half Marathon has a fast coastal course and warm November sunshine on the Red Sea. The 15th edition is scheduled for Saturday 28 November 2026, with 21 km, 10 km and 5 km races, so it suits both experienced runners and holidaymakers looking for a fun run. International entry fees are around EUR 55, 65 and 75 depending on distance, with online registration for overseas runners open until 21 November. Races start early in the morning to avoid the heat, leaving the rest of the day for snorkelling or diving. Many resorts offer race-week packages; book flights early, as Sharm is mainly reached by air.

Dates: announced by the organisers.

What to expect

The race is designed for holidaymakers as much as for club runners, and the shorter distances in particular have a cheerful, sociable feel. The roads are wide and mostly flat, with views of the sea and the mountains of South Sinai. Runners from Egypt and many other countries take part, and families often come along to cheer at the finish.

Getting there

Sharm El Sheikh International Airport has flights from Cairo and many international cities. Within the resort, taxis and hotel shuttles are the usual way to get around. On race morning, allow extra time to reach the start, as some roads are closed while the races are under way.

Planning tips

• Late November is warm by day and pleasant in the evening, so pack light running kit and a layer for after the race.
• Drink regularly in the days before the race and use the water stations on the course.
• Wear sunscreen even for an early start; the sun climbs quickly over the Red Sea.
• Check the start times and race-pack collection details on the official website in race week.

After the race, the reefs of Ras Mohammed National Park make an easy day trip by boat.
