Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon

The Pyramids Half Marathon takes runners across the Giza plateau past the Great Pyramid, Khafre’s pyramid and the Sphinx. What to expect

Getting there

Most runners reach the plateau by taxi, ride-hailing app or organised transfer from their hotel. Allow extra time on race morning, as traffic and road closures around Giza can slow you down. Staying in a hotel near the pyramids makes the early start much easier.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is a short drive away and makes a good visit after the race.
