How Egypt Info is written and checked

Egypt Info is an independent travel guide run by SITA Egypt. Our editors write and update every page; nobody pays to be listed or reviewed.

• Prices and opening hours are checked against official sources, such as the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, museum and airport websites, and each page says when it was last checked.
• Dates for holidays and events are given with the year. Islamic holidays depend on the moon and are marked as expected until announced.
• Trips and hotels link to the operator or booking site that runs them. They set the prices, and you book with them; Egypt Info does not take bookings or payments.
• Photos are our own, freely licensed from Wikimedia Commons, or supplied by the operator, and are credited on each page.
• Corrections: if something has changed, write to [email protected] and we will check it and update the page.

A word from the founder

The idea of Egypt Info grew out of years of study, research and hard work, with the aim of transforming Egypt. 
 
Built on new technology, the platform is meant to strengthen the digital economy, support financial inclusion and bring the informal sector into the country’s economic system.
 
Egypt Info will promote Egypt’s tourism, industry, agriculture, technology and human resources, to support the national economy and increase the country’s foreign exchange earnings.

The Egypt Info platform is built on innovation and technology. It aims to make Egypt’s history and culture accessible online through virtual reality, the internet and artificial intelligence.

How we were established

Getting an idea like this off the ground takes belief, hard work and collaboration.

Egypt Info was established as a national entity, one of the companies funded by Tahia Masr, with the collaboration and support of the Ministry of Technology and Digital Communication, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The Board of Directors includes representatives of these ministries, as well as of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Antiquities.

To create new opportunities for Egyptians through advanced training programmes that open up non-traditional jobs and raise living standards.

To help bring the informal sector into the official economy of the State.
