Opened in 2019 on the Corniche just north of downtown, The St. Regis Cairo is one of the newest luxury hotels on the Nile and one of the most lavish. It occupies twin towers designed by Michael Graves, with interiors full of marble, crystal and gilded detail that feel deliberately glamorous.
Rooms and suites are spacious and nearly all face the river, with floor-to-ceiling windows and high-tech controls. The brand’s signature butler service is available to every guest, helping with unpacking, pressing and tea or coffee in the morning. Some suites are among the largest in the city.
The hotel has three pools, including a family pool, and a large spa with a range of treatments and a well-equipped gym. Dining is varied, with around five restaurants covering Italian, Asian, Middle Eastern and international buffets, plus a stylish bar where the evening sabering of a champagne bottle is a house ritual.
Tahrir Square and the Egyptian Museum are about three kilometres away, a short drive along the Corniche. Guest ratings are consistently among the highest in Cairo. It suits honeymooners, luxury travellers and families who want a new, polished hotel with excellent service and big Nile views.
