Private speedboat trip (4 hours, up to 5 people)

The price is for the whole boat, which takes up to five people. You get your own captain, so there is no shared schedule.

After hotel pickup you leave from the marina and head to snorkelling spots chosen for the day's sea conditions. Swim, snorkel or just sit in the sun; snorkelling gear, life jackets, water and fuel are included.

Food is not included, so bring snacks. Island entry and marine park fees, if the route needs them, are paid on the day.

Who it suits

A private boat suits families, couples and small groups of friends who want to set their own pace, avoid crowded day boats and spend more time in the water. Because the price covers the whole boat, it can work out well when you fill all five places.

What to bring

• Swimwear and a towel
• Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses
• A light long-sleeved top to cover up from the sun on the boat
• A waterproof bag for your phone
• Cash for any island or marine park fees and for tips

Good to know

Pickup is from your hotel at about 08:00 or 12:00, and the trip lasts four hours. The morning slot usually has calmer water, as the wind on the Red Sea tends to pick up in the afternoon.

From around December to March the water is cooler and some people find long swims cold, so you may prefer a short swim and more time on deck. In summer the sea is warm and the sun strong, so shade and sunscreen matter.

Speedboats can feel bumpy when the sea is choppy. If you get seasick easily, take something before you leave. Life jackets are provided for non-swimmers and children, so you do not need to be a strong swimmer to enjoy the snorkelling.
