Baron Resort Sharm El Sheikh

Baron Resort sits at Ras Nasrani, on the coast between Sharm El Sheikh airport and Naama Bay, facing the Strait of Tiran and some of the Red Sea’s most famous reefs. It is a large, classic five-star resort with a grand marble lobby and buildings stepping down through gardens to the shore.

Rooms range from garden and sea-view rooms to suites, and the top royal suites have their own pools. Some furnishings are traditional rather than modern, but the rooms are spacious and well kept.

The real highlight is the sea. The resort has a sandy beach with a long jetty that leads to a colourful house reef, making it excellent for snorkelling straight from the hotel, and the Ras Nasrani dive sites are close by. There are three pools, a spa, a gym and a kids’ club, and dining includes a main buffet and a la carte restaurants covering Italian, Asian and seafood menus, usually on an all-inclusive or half-board basis.

Naama Bay and Soho Square are 15 to 20 minutes away by taxi, and the airport about ten minutes. It suits snorkellers, divers, couples and families who want a quieter location with strong reef access.
