Savoy Sharm El Sheikh is a large, elegant resort on White Knight Bay, in the north of Sharm El Sheikh. It is part of the Savoy group’s complex, which also includes the Royal Savoy and Sierra hotels, and it sits right beside SOHO Square, a pedestrian entertainment district with restaurants, shops, a bowling alley, an ice rink and an evening fountain show.
The resort has a few hundred rooms and suites spread through landscaped gardens, with views over the pools, gardens or sea. Interiors are classic and comfortable, and higher categories include large suites for families.
There are four pools, a spa, a gym and a kids’ club, and the beach has a pontoon that crosses the reef so guests can swim and snorkel in deeper water, since entry from the shore is over coral. Six restaurants, plus everything in SOHO Square next door, mean dining choice is excellent, though the main restaurants can be busy at peak times.
The airport is about ten minutes away and Naama Bay around 15 minutes by taxi. Guest scores are strong, especially for location, beach and staff. It suits families, couples and travellers who want a lively resort with entertainment on the doorstep at good value.
