VIP Cleopatra hammam and massage

This is the fuller version of the hammam visit, at a spa centre in Hurghada with hotel transfers.

You move from the sauna and steam bath to the jacuzzi, then have a Cleopatra bath treatment and body peeling, followed by a 45-minute full-body massage. It ends with a hot drink.

Book this one if you want more time and more treatments than the standard hammam.

Who it suits

This is for anyone who wants a slow, pampering half day. It works well in the middle of a holiday, after a few early starts for boat trips or desert safaris, and couples often book it together. If you only want the basic sauna, scrub and massage, the standard Turkish hammam is shorter.

What to bring

• Swimwear for the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi
• Flip-flops or sandals
• A change of clothes and a hairbrush
• Some cash for tips or any extra treatment you decide to add on the day

Towels are provided, so there is no need to bring your own.

Good to know

Pickup is from your hotel between 10:00 and 16:00, and the whole visit takes about three hours. Try not to eat a heavy meal just before you go, and drink plenty of water afterwards, as the heat of the sauna and steam room can leave you thirsty.

If you are pregnant, have high or low blood pressure or any skin condition, mention it when booking so the therapist can adjust the treatment. Tell your therapist if you prefer lighter or firmer pressure during the massage.

The visit is less pleasant straight after a sunburn, so plan it before a long day in the sun rather than after.
