Horse ride in the desert and by the sea (2 hours)

The ride starts at a stable outside Hurghada. After a safety briefing, trainers match you with a horse and lead the group through the desert towards the coast.

On the shore there is time for photos, and when the sea is calm some routes include riding in the shallow water. The pace is set to the group, so beginners are fine.

A helmet is provided. Wear long trousers and closed shoes.

Who it suits

The ride suits beginners and experienced riders alike, as the trainers match you with a horse and set the pace for the group. It is a calmer way to see the desert than a quad bike, and it makes a nice outing for couples and families with older children.

Good to know

Pickup is from your hotel between 08:00 and 16:00, and the ride lasts two hours. Choose a morning or late-afternoon slot in summer, when it is cooler for both riders and horses; the late afternoon also gives softer light for photos by the sea.

Tell the trainers honestly how much riding experience you have so they can give you the right horse. If you have back or knee problems, mention them when booking.

Riding in the sea depends on the conditions and is only possible when the water is calm.
